Giger became world famous for his work on the U.S. filmAlien, for which he was awarded an Oscar in 1979. Together with Akron, a Swiss artist and occultist, he later worked on a special tarot project, which was presented during two vernissages in the Giger Bar in Chur and in the Baviera Gallery in Zurich. The artists thus created a „dark“ tarot around Bapho- met, a demon with a horned goat‘s head, female breasts, and a pentagram on his forehead. The 23 works show the visions of birth and death, love and hate. The abysses of the human soul can be seen in Giger‘s dark figures. This high-quality illustrated book features Giger‘s sketches of the Baphomet Tarot cards. The book is signed by H.R. Giger and Akron.
