18 NEW Invitation to consign to our 30 June 2022 auction Out of This World If Christian Link were suddenly transported to a princely court 500 years in the past, he would probably feel right at home. His interests – in the curiosities and marvels produced by both man and nature – closely match those of Renaissance scholars and nobles. Just as they assembled their cabinets of curiosities, Chris- tian Link is constantly on the lookout for the most fas- cinating and unusual objects the world has to offer. ‘I would have liked to have been an adventurer like Indiana Jones,’ says Link, who confesses to having watched ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ countless times. ‘But lacking that sort of opportunity (and the right bullwhip), I do my artefact hunting closer to home’. In his own way, Link is as successful as his big-screen hero. His keen eye enables him to continually find in- triguing items that remain unnoticed by others, and his wide range of interests (trained as a filmmaker in Los Angeles, Link has also studied psychology and performed as a professional magician) results in an extremely varied repertoire – from fossilised creatures and meteorites from millions of years in the past, to the most high-tech items of space exploration and cult cinematic props. Over the past decade, he has constructed a solid network of collectors and experts in the fields in which he collects and trades, a precious commodity in these often arcane specialties. ‘Out of This World’, the 30 June auction that Christian Link is organising for Koller, promises to be an amaz- ing journey through millions of years of natural and technological curiosities. Among the items to be of- fered are the fossilised skeleton of a winged dinosaur, a Soviet-era cosmonaut’s complete spacesuit, and an original magic wand used in the Harry Potter films. If you would like to participate in this one-of-a-kind auction, we are now accepting consignments in the following categories: Natural History, Taxidermy, Med- ical Curiosities, Meteorites, Space Travel Memorabilia, Movie Memorabilia and Music Memorabilia.
