Important dates P. 16 The 2024 auction year was tremendously satisfying, as our sales achieved excellent results in all fields, with consistently high sell-through rates and numerous hammer prices above the catalogue estimates. You can find a full account of last year’s highlights in our 42-page review, distributed with this edition of KOLLERview. Our specialists were particularly busy in 2024, handling almost 10 000 items in total, from inspection and cataloguing to their presentation and successful sale at auction. One of the star lots was without question a painting by Ferdinand Hodler from the final year of his life which sold for 7.4 million Swiss francs: the highest auction result in 2024 for any work of art in Switzer- land, and one of the highest in Europe overall. We believe this success augurs well for the upcoming auction year, which we traditionally open in March with an auction series dedicated to pre-20 th century art and artworks. The high-calibre offerings will include an iconic 4500-year-old Cycladic idol, richly illustrated medieval manuscripts, an exquisite flower painting by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder, and 19 th -century paintings from a select private collection. At the same time, consignments for our June auctions of modern and contemporary art, jewellery, watches and Asian art are in full swing. We look forward to welcoming you again soon at the Hardturmstrasse in Zurich or in one of our representative offices.
