934* CHARLES LINDBERGH Hand-signed photograph of the ‘Spirit of St. Louis’ USA, 1930 – 1940 Photographic postcard 13.5 × 8.5 cm Certificate: Profiles in History, Calabasas, CA Charles Lindbergh (1902 –1974), also known as ‘The Lone Eagle’, was an American aviator pioneer, military officer, inventor and activist. He became famous for making the first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean on 20–21 May 1927. The flight from Roosevelt Airfield in New York to Paris in his single-engine airplane ‘The Spirit of St. Louis’ lasted 33.5 hours. Presented here is an excellent signed postcard photograph of the ‘Lone Eagle’ standing on an airfield in his flight attire beside ‘The Spirit of St. Louis’.
