Sold for CHF 150 000 to Munich WRISTWATCHES & POCKETWATCHES Our Watches department has also continually adapted to market devel- opments in recent years. Today, our watch auctions achieve sell-through rates of over 90%. White-glove auc- tions – sales in which every lot is sold – have become increasingly common and are now part of everyday practice. Among the most notable lots of the past year were a Mystery cocktail watch by Cartier and a lady’s watch by Patek Philippe set with coral and diamonds. Thanks to their rarity and distinctive appeal, the Cartier watch achieved CHF 81 000 and the cor- al-set Patek Philippe CHF 168 000 – prices well above estimates. These results demonstrate the particular ap- peal auctions can generate when rare, high-quality pieces are offered. Patek Philippe.
