Iran, Miniatur um 1600, Bordüre von Reza Talīqānī, Qajar, 1880er Jahre, Folio 33x25,5 cm, Miniatur 16,8x13 cm. Pigmentfarben mit Gold und Silber auf Papier. Manuskriptseite mit Miniatur, montiert zu einemAlbumblatt. Im Vordergrund der Miniatur befinden sich zwei junge Adlige imGespräch mit einem bärtigen Scheich, in einer Landschaft mit einem Bach, blühenden Sträuchern und einer Zypresse. ImHintergrund mit Felsen und Bäumen auf goldenemGrund, zielt ein junger Jäger mit einemVorderlader auf einen Ibex. Die prächtige, detailreiche Bordüre rahmt die Miniatur mit Mauresken in Gold und Blau ein, deren Binnenzeichnung polychrome Vögel und goldene Blumen aufweist. Sie kann Reza Talīqānī zugeschrie- ben werden, der in der späten Qajar-Dynastie als Maler und Illuminator in Teheran tätig war. Provenienz: Alte europäische Privatsammlung. A SUMPTUOSLY ILLUMINATED ALBUM LEAFWITH A FINE MINIATURE PAINTING. Iran, miniature painting around 1600, border illumination by Reza Talīqānī, Qajar, 1880s; folio 33x25.5 cm, miniature painting 16.8x13 cm. Pigment colours, gold and silver on paper. An illustrated, trimmedmanuscript page mounted to an album leaf. The miniature painting depicts two young no- blemen discussing with a bearded sheikh in the foreground. In the background with rocks and trees on golden ground a young hunter is about to shoot an ibex. The magnificent border illumination in gold and blue is filled with flowers, tendrils and polychrome birds. It can be ascribed to Reza Talīqānī, who was active as an illuminator in Teheran during the late Qajar dynasty. Provenance: Old European private collection.
