1822* TYRANNOSAURUS REX TOOTH Hell Creek Formation, Montana, USA Late Cretaceous, 68-66 million years 10,6 x 5 cm Provenance: - From the dig site in the Hell Creek Formation, Montana, USA - Italian private collection The Tyrannosaurus Rex, or simply T-Rex, became a pop culture icon thanks to the Spielberg film Jurassic Park, one of the most successful films in cinema history. Scotty, the largest specimen ever found, was 13 meters tall and weighed almost nine tons. The Tyrannosaurus Rex possessed 60 sharp teeth of a various sizes. Up for auction is a very well-preserved specimen that comes from Hell Creek, Montana, where the T-Rex was discovered in 1902 by paleontologist Barnum Brown.
