386* TANTO (KURZDOLCH) Japan, shinshintô-Periode (Edo-Zeit, 19. Jh.), L 26 cm (Klinge), 41 cm (total). Klinge in hirazukuri-Stil, midareba hamon und itame hada mit leichtem mokume. Mumei (unsigniert). Mon- tierung aus dunkelbrauner, fast schwarzlackierter saya mit kozuka und ergänztem kôgai. Vergoldete fuchi-gashira mit Wolkenmotiv, menuki in Form drei weiser Affen und habaki (Klingenzwinge) mit Bambusmotiv. Mekugi aus Metall mit Drehgewinde, vermutlich später. Hirazukuri style blade, itame hada with slight mokume pattern, midareba hamon in nioi and nie. Mumei (unsigned). Mountings comprising a dark brown, almost black-lacquered saya with kozuka and replaced kôgai. Fuchi (sword guard) and kashira (cap) made of gold sheet with cloud motif, menuki in the form of three wise monkeys, and habaki (blade guard) with a bamboo motif. Metal mekugi with a threaded shank, probably later. Provenance: German private collection, purchased in the 1980s. Klinge in shinogizukuri-Stil und torii-zori sugata, sehr feines itame hada, midareba hamon aus notare mit gunome in nioi und nie. Signiert: Heian-jû Michiyoshi. Montierung: shirasaya. Provenienz: Deutsche Privatsammlung, erworben in den 1980er Jahren. NBTHK-Papiere: Kichô tôken-Status (Nr. 322196, 1976 begut- achtet).
