Seltene Puppe, die eng mit der Theatertra- dition der Insel Sado verknüpft ist. Etwas besch. Provenienz: Gemäss Angaben ex Sammlung Jeffrey Montgo- mery, Lugano, erworben bei The Gallery in Tokyo, Zertifikat Nr. 9089 vom 11.09.1982 vorhanden. Wood, head and hands are coated in gofun (white pigment derived from shellfish), the hair in black lacquer, and the robe is made of silk brocade. A rare doll closely associated with the theatrical tradition of Sado Island. A few minor damages. Provenance: Ex collection of Jeffrey Montgomery, Lugano, by repute, acquired from The Gallery in Tokyo. Certificate no. 9089 dated 11.09.1982 is available.
