389 SECHSTEILIGER STELLSCHIRM (BYOBU) Japan, 18./19. Jh. 170 × 375 cm. Tusche, Farben, Gold und Blattgold. Bemalt mit einer Szene der Schlacht von Yashi- na aus dem Heike-Monogatari. Nasu no Yoichi schoss im Galopp auf seinem Pferd mit einem einzigen Pfeil den roten Fächer an der Spitze des Mastes eines schaukelnden Schiff ab, den eine Hofdame des Taira-Clans befestigt hatte. Provenienz: Schweizer Privatsammlung aus dem Tessin, erworben bei John Eskenazi, London, in den frühen 1990er Jahren. At the Battle of Yashima, a young lady-in-wai- ting of the Taira clan had tied the red fan to the top of the mast to challange the Heike clan. Nasu no Yoichi shot a fan attached to the top of a ship's mast with one single arrow while galloping on his horse.
