6 Raoul Dufy (1877–1953). Petits Voiliers. 1946. Oil on panel. 14 × 18.5 cm. Estimate: CHF 30 000/50 000 Ship, sea and harbour motifs like this one are a recurring theme in the work of Dufy, who was born and raised on the coast of Normandy. This small- format oil painting was probably painted in the south of France. Auguste Herbin (1882–1960). Femme au cerisier. 1924. Oil on canvas. 116 × 89 cm. Estimate: CHF 140 000/200 000 Herbin’s cherry harvester was created during a creative phase in which the artist – after a foray into Cubism and abstraction – returned to rep- resentational and figurative painting. Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919). L’allée d’arbres Circa 1900. Oil on canvas. 33.5 × 26.5cm. Estimate: CHF 160 000/240 000 In his airily painted landscapes, Renoir shows himself to be one of the main representatives of Impression- ism and a true master of light. The artist captures the impression of nature, the effect of light, colours and atmosphere with rapid brushstrokes in a virtuoso manner. The entire image seems to shimmer, the re- laxed style and light palette make the landscape shine under the blue sky. Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920). Tête de jeune fille à la frange. Bronze, black patina. Later cast. H 50 cm. Estimate: CHF 25 000/45 000 Expressively elongated bodies and heads became Modigliani’s unmistakable trademark. In this bronze, stylistic references to African tribal art are particularly striking. © 2020, ProLitteris, Zurich © 2020, ProLitteris, Zurich
