This is a film still from the video DeadSee
from 2005, a performance in which the
artist positions herself within and holds
on to a 150 metre coil of 500 waterme-
lons. Like everything in the Dead Sea, the
watermelons and the artist herself float
on the surface. The watermelon coil slowly
unravels. Landau holds on to the open
watermelons, which like her, are exposed
to the burning of the salt water.
DeadSee was first displayed as part of
the „The Endless Solution“ installation in
the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion, Tel Aviv
Museum of Art.
