The Moroccan Erik Desmaizières is one

of the most outstanding contemporary

print-makers. There are few of his con-

temporaries who have such command of

the different etching techniques. Evoca-

tive of the old masters, in their motifs but

also in their quality of execution, his works

bring to mind Albrecht Dürer and Giovanni

Battista Piranesi.
