In der Aufgewahrungsbox mit zwei Schubladen, dekoriert mit Glyzi- nien in Gold makie, befinden sich sechs Pfeile in einem Stand, ein Bogen aus vier zusammensetzbaren Hartholz-Teilen mit fein gestalteten Glyzinien-Metallbeschlägen sowie eine kleine Aufbewahrungsbox. Bogenteile mit Goldlack-Signatur ‚Fujiwara Kazutomo‘, vermutlich der damals bekannte Indoor-Bogenschüt- ze aus Yûshima, Tokyo. Mit beschrifteter Holzbox und Beleg von Heisandô, datiert 4. Tag 3. A RARE AND EXQUISITE LACQUERED INDOOR ARCHERY SET Japan, 19th c. 34 × 9 × 11 cm (box), overall length of bow 88 cm. Storage box with two drawers, decorated with wisteria in gold makie, contains six arrows in a stand and in an inlaid compart- ment a bow made of four detachable hardwood parts with finely worked wisteria metal fittings. Bow parts bearing gold lacquer signature ‘Fujiwara Kazutomo’, presumably the known indoor archery (yôkyû) player from Yûshima, Tokyo at the time. With inscribed wood box and enclosed document by Heisandô, dated 4th day 3rd month Shôwa 4 (1929). Provenance: Malcom Fairley, 17 July 1998 (invoice available). Swiss private collection.
